In a star-making performance, she played the part of Sil in the hit MGM sci-fi thriller Species, terrifying audiences around the globe as an alien with an insatiable appetite for sex and carniage. She would later reprise the role in the film's sequel before solidifying her reputation as a major box office draw when Maximum Risk, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, opened as the number one movie in America. More recently, Henstridge co-starred with Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry in The Whole Nine Yards, and appeared opposite Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck in the filme Bounce.
